Essential Question: How do the issues which prompted the creation of the amendments compare with the issues they are applied to today?



The issues from when the amendment was first created and the issues they are applied to today are very different. For instance, the issues back then caused the amendment to be created to try and make things better. Today, the only issues having to do with this amendment are usually caused by the amendment in the first place.

What is the 6th Amendment?

The 6th Amendment is about the Right to a fair Trial and it also addresses the subject of Witnesses. It is also called the Compulsory Process Clause or the Speedy Trial Clause.

Summary of the 6th Amendment
Summary: The 6th Amendment states that a person has the right to be told what they are charged with, has a fair and speedy trial by a jury, to have a lawyer during the trial and has the right to question witnesses against them and have the right to get their own witnesses to testify.

The 6th amendment was created in order protect the basic rights of people who were accused of committing a crime. This amendment makes sure criminals have a quick trial and that the trial must be fair.

The Founding Fathers created this amendment. They then added it to the Bill of Rights.

3. How was this amendment put into law? gb
In order to add this amendment the founding fathers had to agree on adding it to the constitution. Once the majority of them agreed to add it, the 6th amendment was put into law.

This amendment has been used a lot in courts ever since it was created. For example, the sixth amendment has helped protect the basic rights of accused criminals. That way, everything is fair for the criminals and the people who are the victims.

This amendment is used in trials to keep everything fair. Also, it is used to protect the criminals from being falsely accused and protect them from having their rights violated.

This amendment was put to use because it made everything fair for the courts.

The people felt that this amendment was helpful and can be useful for the country. Although issues have been caused by this amendment, the people still feel this amendment is still a useful and helpful amendment.

The impact of the sixth amendment was it helped make everything equal for the courts.Also, it has caused issues in the courts throughout the years but these issues were later resolved.

This amendment was created and added to the Bill of Rights on December 15th,1791.

10. Has anyone tried to outlaw this amendment? gb
The government has gone over the sixth amendment to decide if it should be outlawed. This is due issues that has happened in different trials throughout the years.
