The New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the thigh at a Manhattan nightclub. Plaxico Buress thought he needed a gun to protect himself. Plaxico Burress had some drinks that made him nervos about the gun. The gun sliped down Plaxico Burress' pants. When he went to go reach for the gun he fumbled with it and the gun went off. The bullet went in and out of his thigh. Plaxico Burress had a permit for the gun, but it was expired. Even if Plaxico Burreess renewed the permit for the gun, it could not ne used in New York because the permit was from Florida. Now because of Plaxico Burress poor actions he can spend up to five years in jail. I think that Plaxico Burress should of been more carful with handling a loaded gun, especially when he had one to many shots.

Plaxico Burress, the big mess up. He messed up big time. All thanks to forgetting how to handle his gun. This soon to be jail cell owner shot himself in the leg while at the Latin Nightquarter Club. The reason this wonder to the giants might never play football again is because he wanted to walk around with a gun that was loaded and to make matters worse he was drinking. Plaxico is a perfect example of the 2nd Amendment, Burress supposedly had a permit for the gun. The only thing wrong was that the permit was for florida and not valid in New York. Not only was he caught with a gun and no permit but he was caught drinking. If he had taken classes he should have known not to drink while he has a gun. He should have had the gun holstered. In my opinion, Plaxico deserves to go to jail. He was not only careless with a gun but he could have hurt Antonio Pierce or any other bystanders.

This article is about a man that lives in a bad neighborhood in Washington DC. Laws in DC prevent anyone that is not a police officer to own a handgun. This man wanted solely to protect himself by owning a handgun. Because of the ban, he wasn’t allowed to get one. He didn’t think that was right so he fought it in court. The court found the law to be unconstitutional. The court saw that it disregarded the 2nd amendment. Some people of the NRA believe that the Supreme Court will wipe out that handgun law in DC. Gun-ownership activists think that gun bans don’t stop criminals; all they do is prevent innocent citizens that follow the law to defend themselves. They believe that the 2nd amendment ensures the right for individuals to own guns. People who believe in having these laws think that guns are mostly used for crime, they think that not a lot of people only use it for defense. They think that the amendment doesn't ensure the right of individuals to own guns. They think the second amendment gives you the right to an armed milita that provides protection for you. The second amendment is veiwed differently in many people's eyes.
