Nyanda Charley, a 19 year old man, shot a security guard and was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
This took place in Mount Vernon on East Lincoln Avenue. A group of teenagers, Nyanda Charley was
one of them, were throwing eggs at cars on Halloween 2007. Neville Webb, a security guard, approached
them and told them to go home. This was when Nyanda Charley shot him twice, once in the chest and
once in the head.
Now, the punishments fit the crimes. If he committed the crime a few hundred years ago, it might be
different. He might have gotten only 2 years in prison
This article is about a man named Alexander Krzyston who is being charged with murder, because he sold alcohol to under aged students. One of the students he sold it to got too drunk and died from alcohol poisoning. The cops are not even sure that Krzyston sold the alcohol to Matthew Sunshine (the student who was killed). They are charging him with murder but it was not Kryston who forced Matthew to drink, he ashed him for the alcohol and decited to get drunk. I think Krzyston should only be charged with selling alcohol to underaged students. I think under the bill of rites he should be protected by the 8th ammendment and should not be charged with murder because he didnt really kill Matthew. So Krzyston is getting chared for something he didnt do. That's unfair.
This article is about how a court was trying to decide wether or not a juveniles should or should not get a deth penalty. Some former jurors voted in a hypothetical case if the juveniles should get executed or not. The defendants ages could be 10, 15, 16, and 19. Almost all the voters voted for execution but it would really depend on the defendants age and the way they acted in court. This was all dicussed by a court and it was all funded by the American Physcology Association. The court thought that there were some implications dealing with the juvenile death penalty. I learned that this article explained that death penalties could not only serve as punishment for adults in crime, but could also be used for a punishment in juvenile crimes.
