This article is about president Bush talking about the bad things of amendment 18. He said that prohibiting alcohol like they did in the 18th amendment only made things worse. Amendment 18 caused people to only want illegal alcohol more and caused crimes and illegal acts to be increased in the U.S. Now Bush does not want to use this tactic to work out modern plans mbecause it only makes things worse.

This article is about how even though alcoholic beverages were illegal, people started secretly drinking. From 1920 till 1933 (when Congress repealed the 18th amendment with the 21st amendment), alcohol was sold to illegal bars, called speakeasies, by bootleggers. Bootleggers were people who smuggled alcohol from other countries into their boots and other clothes.
